The final look for Prometheus on Arrow could have been a lot different, according to concept artist Andy Poon's designs. In fact, had one design in particular been chosen, the character's look, if not his modus operandi, might have been a little more comics-accurate.
Poon played with several different mask variations before the show eventually settled on the version that was used in Season 5 of the show. The design on the top right in particular seems to be influenced by the comic book character's appearance.

Here are some variations of the mask design for Prometheus. In the comic, Prometheus wears a helmet that allows him to put CD into it that helps him learn different martial art. The Arrowverse, which is well known for taking liberties with certain characters, essentially turned Prometheus into a completely new villain with Adrian Chase, played by Josh Segarra, as his secret identity. The use of his helmet would have been a simple nod to his comic book counterpart, who can upload information from CDs directly into his brain, thus granting himself powers and abilities he would not naturally have.
Airing Thursday nights on The CW at 9 PM EST, Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Green Arrow (well, not currently, but), Willa Holland, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, Rick Gonzalez, Juliana Harkavy, Echo Kellum, Katie Cassidy and Paul Blackthorne.
