Arrow: Oliver Queen Outs Himself to the Person You'd Least Expect

SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "The Ties That Bind," the latest episode of Arrow.

The jig is up! The news is out! In "The Ties That Bind," the latest episode of Arrow, Oliver Queen outed his identity to FBI Agent Samandra Watson.

After yet another loss to Ricardo "The Dragon" Diaz, Oliver turned to Agent Watson for help. He confessed he and his forces wouldn't be able to take Diaz down alone and so asked the FBI to get involved. In return, Watson wanted two favors -- the first of which was for Oliver to confess. And so, standing face-to-face with her, he said the words: "I am the Green Arrow."

Although she didn't reveal her second request, this is a major bombshell for the show. Watson has been on Oliver's case since the beginning of the season, even though he's be able to avoid her at every twist and turn. Now, though, he's laid all his cards on the table.

In revealing his identity to Watson, Oliver risks going to prison -- the very thing he avoided in the episode prior. Per the first few episodes of the season, she would love nothing more than to see him in jail. So, by making this deal, Oliver may have to leave his wife, child and friends behind in exchange for the safety of the city.

On the other hand, Oliver may have just made a move that Diaz isn't expecting. With the FBI's help, he might have even secured the future of the city. Hopefully, this will convince Watson to let Oliver walk, or Season 7 will have to take place from the inside of a jail cell.

Airing Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Arrow stars Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, Rick Gonzalez, Echo Kellum, Juliana Harkavy, Kirk Acevado, Paul Blackthorne and Katie Cassidy. The Season 6 finale arrives May 17.
