Arrow's Mia Smoak will be back in an even bigger role for Season 8.

According to TVLine, The CW series has promoted Katherine McNamara to a series regular for the show's final season. This suggests McNamara's Mia will appear in most, if not all, of the series' remaining 10 episodes. It is unclear if she will also be involved with this fall's five-show Arrowverse crossover "Crisis on Infinite Earths."

Last year, Season 7 introduced a flash-forward timeline that took place in the year 2040. In Mia's future, Starling City has become a shadow of its former self, while the Glades has prospered enormously. Together with her mother Felicity, her half-brother William, John Diggle's adopted son Connor Hawke and the remaining members of Team Arrow, she foiled a plot to destroy the remnants of Starling City and launch a Big Brother-esque surveillance system.

McNamara's new and improved role follows the promotion of Joseph David-Jones, who plays Connor Hawke. He will also appear as a series regular in Season 8. This could indicate that the two new costumes teased by executive produce Marc Guggenheim last week could belong to 2040's dynamic duo. After all, they most certainly will not be worn by Mia's father Oliver Queen.

Returning Tuesday, October 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Rick Gonzalez as Wild Dog, Juliana Harkavy as Black Canary, Colton Haynes as Arsenal and Katie Cassidy as Black Siren.
