This week saw the eagerly anticipated premiere of Arrow's eighth and final season, with the inaugural Arrowverse series launching its final run of ten episodes.To commemorate the occasion, longtime series writer and executive producer Marc Guggenheim shared a sneak peek of the series finale's script online. While divulging no major spoilers -- including the final episode's title -- the first page of the script indicates the opening of the episode will echo the opening of the series itself back in October 2012.

Guggenheim developed the series with Arrowverse overseer Greg Berlanti, co-writing 27 episodes of the series to date, including the series premiere.

Since then, Guggenheim has taken point co-developing Legends of Tomorrow and helming the upcoming Arrowverse crossover event "Crisis on Infinite Earths," which the final season of Arrow will build to.

Airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Rick Gonzalez as Wild Dog, Juliana Harkavy as Black Canary, Katie Cassidy as Black Siren, Katherine McNamara as Mia Smoak, Joseph David-Jones as Connor Hawke and Ben Lewis as William Clayton-Queen.
