Though his death was undone in the Arrow series finale, Tommy Meryln suffered a tragic death in the show's Season 1 finale, "Sacrifice." Series co-creator and former showrunner Marc Guggenheim revealed he used fake script pages to keep Tommy's death a secret. The script pages show Tommy surviving the events of the episode. What's more, he tells his best friend Oliver Queen that he is going to kill him when he learns Oliver killed his father, Malcom Merlyn. "When we (spoiler alert) killed off Tommy Merlyn at the end of Season 1, we published fake script pages to keep the secret under wraps. Here are those pages," Guggenheim captioned the tweet.RELATED: Murder in the Arrowverse: Exploring the Difference Between Arrow & Batwoman

In "Sacrifice," Tommy died during an earthquake caused by Malcom that was meant to destroy the Glades, a crime-ridden suburb of Starling City where Rebecca Merlyn was killed. Before he died from wounds caused by falling debris, Tommy made amends with Oliver. As for Malcom, he would return time and again before truly dying in the Season 5 finale, "Lian Yu."

Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Rick Gonzalez as Wild Dog, Juliana Harkavy as Black Canary, Katie Cassidy as Black Siren, Katherine McNamara as Mia Smoak, Joseph David-Jones as Connor Hawke and Ben Lewis as William Clayton-Queen.
