Despite the Ferris Air and Coast City teases all throughout season three, "Arrow" executive producer Marc Guggenheim shot down rumors that Green Lantern would appear in the show's fourth season.

When The Hollywood Reporter asked him if Green Lantern would join the DC TV universe, Guggenheim responded, "They announced the 'Green Lantern Corps' movie, and I'd be surprised if it didn't include Hal Jordan. It would be great but I doubt it very much."

Of course, just because Hal Jordan won't make an appearance doesn't mean that there won't be any Lantern mythology in the show at all; after all, Ra's al Ghul -- a big Batman villain -- was the main antagonist for Oliver Queen all throughout the last season. In the comics, for instance, Ferris Air is a company run in part by Carol Ferris, Hal Jordan's love interest and a pilot herself. Carol becomes a super being, Star Sapphire, in her own right. If Hal doesn't appear on the show, the season three references to the pilot that disappeared during a Ferris Air test flight and Oliver's Coast City friend could very well point to someone like Carol, not Hal.

Starring Stephen Amell, David Ramsey and Emily Bett Rickards, "Arrow" season four is scheduled to debut Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 8 pm EST on The CW.
