SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for “All for Nothing,” the latest episode of Arrow.

The war against Cayden James just escalated. In "All for Nothing," the latest episode of Arrow, Vincent "Vigilante" Sobel died in the line of duty. Despite his metahuman healing ability, Black Siren was able to murder him by unleashing her sonic cry in his ear.

In the episode, Vincent made good on his promise to help Dinah Drake, aka Black Canary, and the other members of Team Arrow save Star City. Though the mission was dangerous, he went undercover wearing what was essentially a high-tech wire; the device was able to upload and send all of Cayden James' files to Felicity back at the bunker. However, James quickly discovered Vincent's deception and had him tortured.

Dinah soon discovered Vincent's fate. Blinded by her love for him, she rushed in to save him -- and walked right into a trap. Once she freed him from his bonds, James detonated a bomb that disoriented Vincent and pinned her under a concrete beam. Black Siren then used her sonic scream to knock Vincent back against the wall, where he was impaled on a pipe and hung helpless.

James ordered Black Siren to kill Vincent for his betrayal. Despite some initial hesitation, Black Siren followed suit, screaming into his ear until his body went limp. Pinned beneath the beam, Dinah was forced to watch the whole thing. Mr. Terrific and Wild Dog eventually rescued her, but the damage was done: Vigilante was dead and she had sworn revenge by any means necessary, even if that means killing James' whole cabal herself.

Vigilante first appeared in the Season 5 episode "Vigilante." Though he appeared in several episodes that season, he didn't unmask for the first time until Season 6. In Season 6, he outed himself as Vincent Sobel, Dinah's former partner and ex-lover. He was allegedly killed by a bullet to the head just as the particle accelerator explosion tore through Central City. The explosion gave him a super healing ability, which allowed him to ability to survive an otherwise fatal wound. Like Season 1 Oliver, he decided to use his newfound abilities to exact justice on Star City by fatal means.

Though Mr. Terrific and Wild Dog insisted that Vincent was dead, that may not be the last we see of him. After all, he was able to come back from a gunshot wound to the back of his head. For all appearances, though, this seems to be Vigilante's true death.

Starring Stephen Amell as the Emerald Archer, Arrow airs Thursdays at 9pm ET/PT on The CW. The series also stars Emily Bett Rickards, David Ramsey, Willa Holland and more.
