"Supernatural" and "iZombie" alum Elysia Rotaru has signed on to play Oliver's former love interest in the upcoming fourth season of "Arrow," Entertainment Weekly reports. As Oliver was headed to Coast City in the season three finale flashback, it seems likely that this new character will be from Oliver's time there.

"Oliver is gonna have a love interest in the past that will serve as a parallel or potentially a contrast to his love affair with Felicity in the present," executive producer Marc Guggenheim explained. However, no details about the role have been revealed, up to and including the character's name.

Taking the actress' look and location into consideration, it's possible that we will see some Green Lantern mythology in season four after all: in the comics, Carol Ferris runs her father's company, Ferris Air, which has been featured multiple times throughout "Arrow" and "The Flash." Carol started out as Hal Jordan's love interest and a pilot herself, though she eventually became a superhero in her own right under the Star Sapphire mantle. Guggenheim already confirmed that Hal won't appear on the show, so it's possible that the season three references to the pilot who disappeared during a Ferris Air test flight and Oliver's Coast City friend could very well point to someone like Carol, not Hal.

Starring Stephen Amell, David Ramsey and Emily Bett Rickards, "Arrow" season four is scheduled to debut Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 8 pm EST on The CW.
