Arrow Jailbreak! Who Lived, Who Died & Who Escaped

SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "The Slabside Redemption," the latest episode of Arrow.

The inmates ran the asylum in "The Slabside Redemption," the latest episode of Arrow. When Ricardo "The Dragon" Diaz convinced the prisoners to rise up, all hell broke loose, resulting in two major deaths and an escapee.

As Oliver worked his way through the chaos, Daniel "Brick" Brickwell and Derek Sampson seized the opportunity they'd been waiting for since the Green Arrow arrived at Slabside and attacked. Oliver made short work of them both. As Sampson attempted to kill him, Oliver slashed his femoral artery; he told Sampson he had only six minutes before he bled out, then walked away.

Nevertheless, Sampson resurfaced during the fight at the cell block. He went hand-to-hand with Bronze Tiger, who kicked him off the second level into a fire below, where he burned to death.

Though Brick also met his end in this episode, it wasn't by Oliver's hand. As the episode progressed, Stanley revealed his true nature, going so far as to kidnap Oliver for a moment to explain his motivations. Stanley -- who confessed to having already murdered several people -- believes he kills only "bad" guys, much like Oliver used to do when he was simply "The Hood." However, Stanley's notion of "bad" differs wildly from Oliver's, in that he thinks anyone who has committed a crime could and should die. As such, Stanley wanted to Oliver to escape with him and leave everyone else to die.

Naturally, Oliver wanted nothing to do with Stanley's agenda. Though Stanley begged to be Oliver's sidekick, Oliver beat him up and left him behind. As Stanley wallowed in his rage and confusion, he stumbled across Brick. Brick taunted Stanley, mocking him as "Green Arrow's sidekick." At this, Stanley lost it and killed Brick in cold blood, stabbing him in the back with a butter knife. He then escaped the prison through the morgue.

Seeing as Stanley both survived and escaped, he will likely become a problem for Oliver later on down the line. It is unclear if he will attempt to win Oliver's favor back or turn against him completely; after all, he perceived Oliver's abandonment of him as a betrayal.

Of all Oliver's antagonists so far this season, Ben Turner, aka Bronze Tiger, was the only one to survive by his own means. After coming to Oliver's aid, he opted to remain in the prison to serve out the rest of his sentence, despite having an opportunity to escape. Likewise, Oliver left Diaz alive and in prison after their intense battle.

Airing Mondays at 8 pm ET/PT on The CW, Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, Rick Gonzalez as Wild Dog, Echo Kellum as Mr. Terrific, Juliana Harkavy as Black Canary, Colton Haynes as Arsenal, Kirk Acevedo as Diaz, and Katie Cassidy as Black Siren.
