A little under two weeks ago, concept artist Andy Poon revealed a sneak peek at concept art featuring an unused design for Laurel Lance's Black Canary costume from Season 7 of The CW's Arrow. Poon has now revealed the scrapped look in its entirety.

The art was illustrated by Poon from a design by costume designer Maya Mani. If the design looks at all familiar, that's because it's based on the costume worn by Black Canary during DC Comics' New 52 relaunch starting in 2011.

"Here are two concept illustrations I did with costume designer Maya Mani way back during the end of Season 6 when we thought that Season 7 could be the final season so they need their final suits," Poon wrote on Instagram. "I really like the touch of blue added here similar to the New 52 design and incorporated some visible mesh onto her pants. I can't wait to check out what they do with Black Canary in [the upcoming film Birds of Prey].

Katie Cassidy's Laurel Lance, of course, ended up wearing a very different Black Canary costume in Arrow Season 7 -- with the dark blue and gold look being eschewed in favor of an all-black aesthetic. That being said, the costume she wore in Season 8 took a bit more inspiration from the comics, incorporating a bit of yellow into the design.
