"Arrow" Adds "True Blood" & "Hannibal" Alum Rutina Wesley

UPDATE 8/12/2015 5:20 PM PT: Though at first unrevealed, The Hollywood Reporter has word on what character Rutina Wesley will play on "Arrow" season four: Liza Warner, originally known in DC Comics by the strikingly antiquated name "Lady Cop." On "Arrow," the character is described as a "member of an anti-vigilante task force."

Liza Warner was created by Robert Kanigher and John Rosenberger and introduced in 1975's "1st Issue Special #4," before resurfacing about 30 years later in "All-New Atom," as Chief of Police for Ivy Town and an ally to then-Atom Ryan Choi.

From vampires to serial killers and now to superheroes, actress Rutina Wesley is joining The CW's "Arrow."

The Wrap reports that the actress behind popular "True Blood" character Tara Thornton and currently costarring in the final episodes of the acclaimed "Hannibal" will step into Starling City for a multi-episode arc on The CW/DC Comics drama.

Though her character is yet unknown, Wesley is joining fellow new cast members like the just announced Parker Young, JR Bourne as villain Double Down or Neal McDonough as Season 4 Big Bad Damien Darhk.

"Arrow" returns with new episodes October 7.
