Warning: Potential spoilers for "Wolverine 3" follow...

A new report posits that the cyborg, mutant-hating Reavers will be the villains of "Wolverine 3."

According to Nerdist, a source "close to production" tells them, "...[the] Reavers will be battling old man Logan in Wolverine 3." They go on to suggest that Richard E. Grant could have been cast as the Reavers' creator, Donald Pierce, in the film.

The Reavers are a group of anti-mutant cyborgs that operate as an elite task under the command of Donald Pierce -- a former member of The Hellfire Club. In the comics, Pierce allegedly built the Reavers to eliminate mutantkind. The team has been known to appear alongside Lady Deathstrike, the adamantium-boned assassin who fans will remember well from "X2: X-Men United."

At this point, the presence of The Reavers, let alone Pierce, is just a rumor -- and we don't even know if the film is an "Old Man Logan" adaptation for sure yet. So far, producer Simon Kinberg has only indicated that the film will be set in the future, and R-rated, with a "Western" feel.
