Ten years ago, Archie Andrews made a big decision when he proposed to longtime flame Veronica Lodge. He also made another big decision when, in an alternate but equally valid storyline, he proposed to longtime sweetheart Betty Cooper. A new miniseries titled Archie: The Married Life - 10th Anniversary will follow up on the red-haired heartthrob’s marriage -- both -- after 10 years.

In 2009, the series spent six issues total exploring Archie’s decision to marry either Betty or Veronica, with three issues devoted to each marriage storyline. The new miniseries kicks off 10 years later, long after Archie has settled down and established a life with either spouse. Of course, in typical Archie fashion, things don’t go smoothly.

A preview for the upcoming miniseries hints at what life looks like for Archie, Betty and Veronica in both storylines. In the storyline that follows up on Archie’s marriage to Veronica a decade later, he finds himself overworked at Lodge Industries, only to be surprised by a major life decision his wife makes. In the case where Archie married Betty 10 years ago, the couple return to Riverdale after living in New York for some time, only to find new challenges in the form of an aging, ill parent.

Archie: The Married Life - 10th Anniversary #1 goes on sale Aug. 7. Michael Uslan writes the issue. Dan Parent, J. Bone, Glenn Whitmore and Jack Morelli provide the art. Dan Parent is the cover artist, while J. Bone, Francesco Francavilla, Robert Hack and Aaron Lopresti provide variants.
