"Archer" wrapped up its seventh season in early June, but FX wasted no time in letting fans know Sterling Archer's misadventures are far from over. The cable network intends to add some huge length -- phrasing -- to the hit animated cartoon series.

"The move to Los Angeles this past season as private detectives was just the latest twist in Archer’s legendary exploits and the next three seasons will to be just as amazing and unpredictable," said Nick Grad, one of the channel's Presidents of Original Programming.

"Archer" has seen a steady decline in viewership over the last couple years, leading some to wonder if the show would draw to a close. Before today's official announcement, executive producers Matt Thompson and Casey Will hinted earlier this month that a live-action film starring Jon Hamm -- because of course -- might be in the cards once the animated series comes to an end. For now, it seems H. Jon Benjamin's time voicing the super spy is far from over.

Season 8 is expected to premiere in early 2017 with an eight-episode arc, followed by two more equally long seasons thereafter. Again, uh, phrasing.
