There's an argument to be made that Sterling Archer is the greatest spy of all time. At least, that's what Archer would say. James Bond might have an opinion about that but Archer's probably too drunk to care about what he thinks. Sterling knows that he's the best in the business and he's not afraid to tell anyone within earshot exactly that. Unfortunately, he often makes that claim in large, crowded rooms, which isn't the best decision for someone who is supposed to operate in secret. There are a lot of great comic book spies that would find Archer endearing but probably even more that would find him annoying.

10 HATE HIM: Sharon Carter

The grand-niece of Peggy Carter carved a name for herself as one of the top spies in S.H.I.E.L.D., even serving as its interim Executive Director. She studied under the learning tree of Nick Fury and stood beside Captain America on more than one occasion. Sharon knows what a hero looks like, regardless of whether that person is a super spy or super soldier. She would be outright annoyed by Archer and his antics in the field. Sharon Carter works with professionals, and as good as he is at the spy game he often isn't the most professional guy out there. Frankly, she'd be more inclined to work with Lana.

9 TEAM UP: Amanda Waller

While Amanda Waller might not be a spy in the most traditional sense of the word, she does know how the game is played. If nothing else, Waller is a master of managing assets in the field and Archer is one heck of an asset. She wouldn't be put off by his drinking or boorish behavior at all.

She's dealt with way worse in organizations like the Suicide Squad. But Amanda Waller knows a solid asset when she sees one. Archer is the kind of guy who can get the job done, and frequently does it with a lot of a noise, a lot of blood and little or no guilt. He's exactly who Waller is looking for.

8 HATE HIM: Chameleon

One of Spider-Man's greatest enemies is the Chameleon. The half-brother of Kraven the Hunter, Dmitri Smerdyakov grew up with a talent for impressions that he turned into the ability to become basically anyone. More than one of the Wall Crawler's gallery of rogues, Chameleon is also an accomplished spy who has lent his talents to multiple criminal organizations in the Marvel Universe. There's absolutely no doubt that the Chameleon would have no use for Archer whatsoever. Despite his ego and drinking, Archer is on the side of the good guys for the most part. He would be brought in to take Smerdyakov down, not work with him.

7 TEAM UP: James Bond

While he's best known from movies and books, 007 has a long standing presence in the comic book world. Despite the fact that Archer can be a bit of a lout, James Bond would find an immediate kinship with Sterling. Both secret agents are portrayed as drinkers and womanizers, though those qualities are far more prominent in Archer than Bond these days.

Ultimately, these are two of the greatest spies who have ever been in the business. That being said, Archer might possibly be more of a hitman than a spy at times but the same can be said of Bond. Still, the two of them would be a devastating duo.

6 HATE HIM: Jimmy Woo

Jimmy Woo's association with S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Agents of Atlas has defined him for years. While he isn't always at the forefront of what's going on in Marvel Comics, he's always around and up to something. Jimmy is truly one of the best secret agents Marvel has. But that's because he's a master of working in the shadows and making things happen. Archer is not. He lives his life out loud, one way or another. The man will mention that he's a spy at the drop of a hat if he thinks it will get a woman to go home with him. Jimmy would find Archer almost impossible to be around, let alone work with.

5 TEAM UP: Baroness

At the core of Cobra's strategy to take over the world is the Baroness. As head of Cobra's intelligence operations, the Baroness has put her vast training and experience to good use on many occasions, mostly to the detriment of the G.I. Joes. In Archer, she would see a huge opportunity. He is skilled at what he does, and because he's viewed as a good guy there's a chance to use him against the Joes as a plant.

The reality is that Archer is easily manipulated by liquor and women, and the Baroness is not above using anything to manipulate someone like him. Archer is an asset the Baroness could definitely use to the advantage of Cobra.

4 HATE HIM: Tintin

Journalist by trade. Adventurer by lifestyle. Tintin's work has a taken him around the world, putting him in an impressive array of situations. Frequently, he plays the part of a spy, helping the authorities gather information on criminal organizations across the globe. Tintin is a hero in many circles, though some of the stories he's in have not aged particularly well. He would, without question, hate working with Archer. Despite the press being obsessed with his adventures, Tintin tries to live a private life. Archer's love of partying and explosions would not go over well. Captain Haddock might go out for a drink with him, though.

3 TEAM UP: Wolverine

Logan is the best there is at what he does and one of those things is being a spy. While he does wear a loud costume when working with the X-Men, he's also been known to go more subtle when working with other organizations like S.H.I.E.L.D. He would probably enjoy teaming up with Archer.

Both guys like to drink, smoke cigars and cause a lot of damage, even when the moment doesn't call for it. Archer would love teaming up with Wolverine, too. He would be endlessly fascinated with Logan's various mutant powers and sweet adamantium claws. Archer should probably keep Wolverine away from Dr. Krieger, though. That just wouldn't end well.

2 HATE HIM: Johnny Barracuda

The main problem with Archer teaming up with a group like Danger Girl is the series of mini strokes he would have when he met them. There's not chance that Archer would remain remotely focused or professional around the women on the team. Sydney Savage might take a shine to him but Abbey Chase would definitely hate him. Silicon Valerie would probably develop an instant crush on the guy. The biggest problem would be Johnny Barracuda. He is a slightly more sober version of Archer, and having two of them around would just be annoying. They would be so competitive with each other that it would just cause endless fights. Essentially, nothing would get done.

1 TEAM UP: Nick Fury

Nick Fury

Arguably one of the greatest spies in the history of comic books, Nick Fury's career has spanned multiple decades and generations. Starting off in World War II, Nick Fury's work has grown both in the light and in the shadows. If anyone knows how to look beyond the flaws to find the skills someone brings to the table, it's Nick Fury. If anything, Archer is the one who needs to be careful in this situation. Fury might be the greatest player in the game. Simply put, Archer is not equipped to deal with someone like Fury. He would absolutely own Archer.
