A fan-made opening title sequence combines the style of Riot Games' Arcane with the cast of Respawn Entertainment's Apex Legends.

The short video, made by Jehadyel, includes the use of Arcane's theme song, as well as the thematic stone statues carved into the likeness of the legends. Though every character from Apex Legends made an appearance during the brief runtime of the video, special attention was put into the dueling figures of Rampart and Pathfinder. Fans of both franchises might recognize their poses as a subtle reference to the original show, alluding to Jinx through Rampart's use of her minigun, and Vi's boxing style with Pathfinder's heirloom gloves.

Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale shooter developed by Respawn Entertainment. Originally released in 2019, the game quickly became one of the most popular titles in the genre, setting itself apart through its colorful roster of playable heroes and fast-paced gunplay. Apex Legends' latest season, entitled Escape, introduced a host of new features for its player base to experience -- such as a unique battle pass, an original island-themed map and the new playable legend, Ash.

Though League of Legends employs a comparable free-to-play model, its Netflix spinoff series Arcane requires no familiarity with the in-game lore to appreciate, meaning old fans and newcomers to the universe can all find something to enjoy. The show stands as Riot Games' maiden voyage into film and television, becoming the first series to adapt the world of Runeterra into the small screen. Riot's Global President of Entertainment Shauna Spenley also celebrated Arcane's release, calling it a leap for the company's forays into different fields of entertainment, while cautiously remarking that "[Riot Games] is just testing the waters of TV and film content for now."

A second season for Arcane was announced right after the premiere of Season 1's critically acclaimed finale. In response to the tremendous success of the series, lead writers Christian Linke and Alex Yee both released a statement saying, "We're beyond happy about the positive response to Arcane's first season and are working hard with the creative wizards at Riot and Fortiche to deliver our second installment."

Apex Legends is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Though no official release date has been set for Arcane Season 2,  all of Season 1 is currently available to stream on Netflix.
