Arby's Roast Beef has thrown its oversized cowboy hat back into the Dungeons & Dragons and tabletop role-playing ring with a limited edition branded set of dice based on their fast-food franchise.

Each of the seven translucent dice in the polyhedral set encases a miniature version of Arby's signature hat logo, with gold-colored numbers surrounding the outside. Instead of a twenty reading on the critical side of Arby's collectible dice, the company's name and logo appear. While this collaboration might seem surprising, the dice sold out quickly during their initial 2021 release and have returned by popular demand. Arby's cited its curation as a gaming-adjacent brand for developing a die set, as the company has made concerted efforts to connect itself with gaming and nerd culture. The dice drop on Arby's website on April 17 at 2 PM ET. Fans can purchase them for $12 while supplies last. For those that missed out, a second drop will appear on the site on April 21.

A mock-up dice tower made of a clear plastic Arby's milkshake cup, stair-cased straws and a fry tray accompanied the dice during their 2021 release. However, the fast food tower will not return alongside the dice this time. The boom in tabletop gaming has generated a market for unique sets of dice, from high-end metallics to colorful do-it-yourself resins. A recent case of an organization capitalizing on the tabletop trend came when Donate Life America released its own transparent set of dice with miniature organ replicas inside as part of a sweepstakes to raise awareness for organ donation.

While not a specific partnership with Dungeons & Dragons or promotion for the film Honor Among Thieves, Arby's is far from the only fast-food franchise to cash in on a tabletop property or element of nerd culture. McDonald's maintains a somewhat infamous partnership with Monopoly, using Hasbro's branded imagery for their own gamified fast food promotion. McDonald's has utilized their Happy Meal line to incentivize fans with collectibles based on properties such as Marvel and Pokémon. Taco Bell has produced viral ad campaigns ranging from their Fry Force anime to a horror film parody starring Stranger Things' Joe Keery to a send-up of convention culture that featured characters from Brian K. Vaughan's comic Saga.
