A new behind-the-scenes video from Aquaman provides an inside look at how CGI, practical sets, costumes and effects worked together to create the film's undersea aesthetic.

The video opens on the iconic shot of King Atlan standing triumphant with his trident in-hand as the ocean waves crash around him. At the beginning, the curtain is already peeled back, as it were, with the stationary figure standing before a blue screen. From there, viewers quickly get to see the finished product, complete with the water, scenery and flowing cape that were all added in post-production.

What follows is a myriad of clips from the set of Aquaman featuring movie magic in action, some following a similar before-and-after approach like the shot of King Atlan and others providing a more real-time point of view.

From the simple, like Amber Heard's hair flowing in the wind, to the elaborate, like Heard and Jason Momoa suspended in a boat surrounded by blue screens and water, this video makes it clear just how much went into creating the film's grand visuals.
