With barely two months until its theatrical release, Aquaman has begun to ramp up its promotional campaign with a new TV promo for the Jason Momoa film.

In the clip, Arthur Curry is seen confronted by unfriendly locals at a bar, while later footage shows Amber Heard's Mera demonstrating her powerful hydrokinetic abilities before reassuring Arthur Curry that Atlantis needs him.

"I'm not a king," confesses Arthur in a quiet moment with Mera.

"The world needs something more," reveals Mera interspersed with scenes of Aquaman facing his half-brother Orm underwater for the throne. "A hero."

Also briefly appearing in the TV spot are Nicole Kidman's Queen Atlanna with Temuera Morrison's Thomas Curry with the couple preparing for Arthur's birth before scenes of the future DC superhero as a child as Atlanna expresses her hopes that Arthur will be the one to unite the surface world with Atlantis.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, and Dolph Lundgren as Nereus. The film opens on December 21.
