Warner Bros. announced today that it will release Aquaman and Shazam! in panoramic 270-degree format, along with up to three other films this year.

“As we look toward the future, we are excited to bring new films to theatres that take advantage of innovative formats like ScreenX,” Thomas Molter, Warner Bros. EVP of Exhibition Strategy, said in a press release. “As a company, we’re always looking to engage audiences by telling great stories in unique ways, and CJ 4DPLEX allows us to utilize new technologies that bring an immersive experience to film-goers.”

The announcement comes on the heels of Rampage's success in the same format, called ScreenX. The system premiered at CinemaCon 2015 and its adoption has only grown since. Last year saw significant growth for the ScreenX platform, as it has been installed in more theaters and utilized for both major Hollywood movies and independent films.

Arriving in theaters on April 5, 2019, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi as Shazam, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Mark Strong as Doctor Sivana, Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Jovan Armand as Pedro Pena, Ron Cephas Jones as the Wizard and Cooper Andrews and Marta Milans as foster parents Victor and Rosa Vasquez.
