Warner Bros.' Aquaman is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office and has now surpassed the lifetime gross of Suicide Squad.

After taking in another estimated $51.5 million at the box office this weekend, Aquaman is currently sitting at $188.7 million domestically. However, while the film's stateside run is laudable, Aquaman has been doing impressively well overseas, where the movie has taken in a stunning $560 million. Aquaman's worldwide total is now approximately $748.78 million. In comparison Suicide Squad, which despite being a critical dud was a box office success, took in $746.8 million throughout its theatrical run in 2016.

With little to no competition in the coming weeks, it's likely Aquaman will continue to dominate the box office. Some analysts think that the film could finish its run having earned more than $1 billion worldwide. The movie looks set to overtake Wonder Woman ($821.8 million) in the coming weeks and will also likely surpass Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($873.6 million).

A sequel to the Aquaman has not yet been announced, though the studio started talking about a sequel before the film was even released. Considering how successful Aquaman has been at the box office so far, it seems likely that an announcement will arrive sooner rather than later.
