Aquaman star Jason Momoa has been spotted wearing new Atlantean armor in a bunch of set photos and a video from his film's Australia set which have emerged online. Momoa, with his queen, Amber Heard's Mera, can be seen emerging from the sea wearing a new gold-plated armor that looks more bulky and also, much more regal than what we've seen him sporting for the Justice League film.

This new costume could be his kingly garb as opposed to the warrior wear Zack Snyder has draped him in, and eagle-eyed fans would also notice that Mera is holding some sort of object in her hand. This could well fuel speculation that Aquaman director James Wan has them on a diplomatic mission in this scene, with the object being the one he mentioned in prior reports regarding the film's epic scope of adventure.

Wan has promised a “swashbuckling action-adventure, sort of high seas adventure story” which will be in the vein of '80s classics like Raiders of the Lost Ark and Romancing the Stone, teasing that it’s “ultimately a quest story,” without revealing what the object of that search is. Aquaman and Mera will appear in Justice League next November before Wan's film dives further into their rule over Atlantis.

Arriving Dec. 21, 2018, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman/Arthur Curry, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Murk, and Michael Beach as Jesse Kane.
