Aquaman director James Wan hints at the arrival on Friday of a new trailer with the debut of a poster that teases the DC hero's classic orange-and-green costume.

Accompanied by the tagline "A Tide Is Coming," the image depicts the sea king's hand emerging from the ocean and gripping a trident. He's notably clad in orange scale armor and shimmering metallic-green glove.

A Son of the Land...
A King of the Seas...
He’s the Protector of the Deep.

If Wan is indeed trumpeting the debut of a new trailer, it will be the first since the initial one was screened July 21 at Comic-Con International in San Diego. That said, there have been plenty of television promos and international variations, albeit all based on that first footage.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be…a king.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, and Dolph Lundgren as Nereus. The film opens Dec. 21 in the United States, and Feb. 8, 2019, in Japan.
