Fans who were hoping to see Jason Momoa's Aquaman wear his modern comic costume didn't get their wishes honored in Zack Snyder's Justice League -- he wore an Atlantean battle armor, instead. However, new rumors indicate will indeed be sporting this modern look in James Wan's solo flick later this year.
According to The Aquaman Shrine fan site on Twitter, an attendee for a Warner Bros. licensing event has confirmed he will be wearing the orange and green costume Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis created in the wake of Brightest Day and in time for DC's New 52. It comes as exciting news for fans given that not too many details are known about the film except that Momoa's Arthur Curry will be exploring his past, present and future as King of Atlantis.
Here, Wan will dive into his role in the wake of Steppenwolf's attack, and his relationship with the likes of Mera (Amber Heard) and Xebel, a dimension filled with rogue Atlanteans led by Dolph Lundgren's King Nereus. This conflict, along with the looming threat of Orm and Black Manta, may well see Aquaman finally don the regal look fans have waited years for since he debuted in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
