While Aquaman is a little over a week away until its home video release in the United States, the DCEU film continues to do big business overseas.
This weekend, the movie's foreign box office total reached $806 million, surpassing Iron Man 3's record for highest earning solo superhero film. Combined with its domestic total, the 2013 film earned $1.21 billion which Aquaman is not projected to meet, but still an impressive feat nonetheless.
The highest earning superhero film overseas overall remains Avengers: Infinity War with its $1.3 billion, with Avengers: Age of Ultron's $945 million and The Avengers' $896 million taking the second and third spots, respectively.
Last weekend, Aquaman hit two other milestones as the second highest earning DCEU film domestically, second only to Wonder Woman, and surpassing Transformers: Dark of the Moon as the 20th highest earning film of all time at the worldwide box office without adjusting for inflation.
With Aquaman available in digital HD on March 5 and Blu-ray and DVD on March 26, fans won't have to wait long to see if the latest DCEU superhero is successful in taking flight.
