The upcoming issue of Entertainment Weekly is all about the upcoming DCEU film Aquaman , and comes splashing into readers' homes with two covers, one of which gives us our first look at Nicole Kidman's Queen Atlanna.

Jason Momoa's tattooed hero is featured on both covers, naturally -- one for subscribers that features Momoa's face drenched in water, and a second for newsstands featuring Momoa, Kidman's Atlanna and Amber Heard's Mera. Rather than the armor her son and Mera have worn in earlier films, Atlanna appears to be wearing something more akin to a regal bodysuit.

As the first film to follow the Justice League team-up movie from late last year, Momoa's film will be set after he's helped found the Justice League and saved the world. Having become the ruler of Atlantis against his own wishes, Arthur Curry gets caught up in a battle between Atlanteans and surface dwellers that involves both Ocean Master and Black Manta. With the cover story, it's safe to say that the film's first trailer can't be far behind, and it's proven to be noticeably absent in the last handful of months.

In theaters Dec. 21, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Yahya Abdul-Ameen II, Willem Dafoe, Dolph Lundgren, Ludi Lin, Temuera Morrison, and Nicole Kidman.
