The ripples from Dark Nights: Metal will reach Atlantis beginning in April with DC Comics' Aquaman #35.

Written by Scott Snyder and illustrated by Greg Capullo, the miniseries centers on the efforts by Earth's heroes to fend off an invasion from the Dark Multiverse, led by the bat-demon Barbatos and his sinister Dark Knights.

In the tie-in Batman: The Drowned, Mera is transformed into Dead Water by the armies of Bryce Wayne, Batman's evil doppelganger from the Dark Multiverse's drowned Earth 11. In December's Metal #4, Aquaman begrudgingly travels with Deathstroke in Atlantis in hopes of finding more Nth Metal to defeat Barbatos and his forces. There, they discover the sacred tomb of Atlantis' first king hides a portal -- although to where isn't yet clear.

The solicitation for Aquaman #35, by writer Dan Abnett and artist Riccardo Federici, teases the opening chapter of the "Kingslayer" arc, in which King Rath sends Aquaman's former ally Murk to kill Aquaman once and for all. But while Rath's new power threatens to change Atlantis forever, the text also promises "the events of Dark Nights: Metal begin to take effect on the sunken city." To what extent of course isn't yet clear.
