Aquaman: Dafoe's Vulko Sends Arthur on a Quest in New Clip

With Aquaman now less than three weeks away from opening in theaters everywhere, a new scene sends the titular DC Extended Universe superhero on a quest to "win hearts and minds."

Originally released on Good Morning America, the clip shows Willem Dafoe's Nuidis Vulko tasking Arthur Curry with retrieving the Trident of Neptune before Arthur's half-brother Orm can proclaim himself Ocean Master and gain powers threatening both the seas and surface world.

While Arthur is skeptical that he can gain support, Vulko assured him that wielding the mythical weapon will prove himself worthy to his people. "I already have one those," an unconvinced Arthur responded, pointing to his trident in the background.

"Not like this, you don't," Vulko said knowingly.

Given the importance of the Trident of Neptune in the comic books, the heir to the throne of Atlantis is on the road to a massive power upgrade.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, and Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna. The film opens on December 21.
