Warner Bros.' latest addition to the DC Extended Universe, Aquaman, is making massive waves, having just crossed $500 million at the worldwide box office. However, the King of Atlantis also managed to dominate movie ticket sales stateside on Christmas Day, passing $100 million domestically in the process.

A $22 million haul on Tuesday pushed Aquaman to a domestic box office total of $105 million over the five-day holiday weekend. This bounty secured Arthur Curry the top spot, beating out stiff competition in the form of Bumblebee ($8.9 million on Christmas, $34.27 million for the weekend) and Mary Poppins Returns ($11.6 million on Christmas, $50 million since its release on Dec. 19).

Of course, the bulk of Aquaman's financial success thus far comes from overseas. In fact, after just three weeks in China, the film had already rounded up more internationally than its DCEU predecessors Wonder Woman and Man of Steel.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus and Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna. The film is currently in theaters nationwide.
