Recently, I wrote about how Aquaman's hand was restored after it was cut off towards the start of his 1994 ongoing series.

Reader Mad Dog wrote in to ask, "Yes, in Blackest Night Aquaman was resurrected whole, but in the following Brightest Day series, he lost it again when it was cut off by Black Manta! How did he get it back after that?!"

As he alluded to, the basic gist was that after Aquaman was killed off at one point, he was resurrected in Blackest Night, at which point his hand was healed.

Blackest Night was followed by a maxiseries called Brightest Day by Geoff Johns, Peter Tomasi, Ivan Reis and Joe Prado.

In Brightest Day #19, Aquaman is fighting against the villainous Siren and Black Manta when he gets his hand chopped off AGAIN...

In an impressive move, Aquaman has the new Aqualad use his powers to cauterize the wound and then Aquaman continues the fight. But then he is suddenly taken away by the White Lantern that resurrected him...

In Brightest Day #23, we see that four of the resurrected heroes have been transformed into avatars of the four elements, with Aquaman being water...

Once their mission was completed in the following issue (the conclusion to the series), Aquaman returned to human and his hand was back...

So there ya go, Mad Dog! Easy breazy!
