Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has added three new cast members.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actors Indya Moore, Jani Zhao and Vincent Regan have all joined the Aquaman sequel. THR has also confirmed that Randall Park will return to reprise his role as Dr. Stephen Shin from the first film. Production on the blockbuster sequel has been underway in London since the end of June, with director James Wan announcing the start of filming on social media.

Moore joins the sequel as the DC Comics character Karshon. In the comics, Karshon was originally designed as a Green Lantern villain and made his first appearance in 1963's Green Lantern #24 and was created by John Broome and Gil Kane. The character was initially an ordinary shark but took on a more humanoid appearance after being struck with radiation. With Moore's casting, the character will apparently be gender-swapped for the film.

Meanwhile, Regan is playing Atlan, the ancient ruler of Atlantis. This is a recasting as the character briefly appeared in the first film played by actor Graham McTavish. Atlan was ultimately responsible for Atlantis sinking into the sea. Finally, Zhao is playing a character named Stingray. As this is an original character created for the film, their role and allegiance remains a mystery.

Moore is best known for the critically acclaimed television series Pose. Tis looks to be Zhao's biggest credit to date, although her resume includes the likes of Patrulha da Noite and Jogo Duplo. Regan is best known for his work on Poldark and Flesh and Blood.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom arrives in theaters Dec. 16, 2022.
