A new petition calls for Amber Heard to be removed from the cast of Aquaman 2, following reported allegations of the actor as a domestic abuser of her former husband, Johnny Depp.

As of this writing, the "Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2" petition created by Jeanne Larson has over 36,500 signatures out of a goal of 50,000. The petition is addressed to Courtney Simmons, SVP of Publicity & Communications for DC Warner Bros and Paul McGuire, Corporate Communications of DC Entertainment.

The petition calls in question various reports of domestic abuse at the hands of Amber Heard against Johnny Depp, citing an incident where Heard is accused of punching Depp twice in the face, along with shattering his finger with a vodka bottle, which resulted in Depp needing surgery.

Larson also recalled Heard being allegedly arrested in 2009 for abusing a former domestic partner as a pattern of bad behavior by the actor. Larson goes on to call Heard's reports of abuse at the hands of Depp to be fake incidents, claiming Heard to be the abuser in the relationship.

"As Amber Heard is a known and proven domestic abuser, Warner Brothers and DC Entertainment should and must remove Heard from their Aquaman 2 film project," the petition states. "They must not ignore the suffering of Heard's victims, and must not glamorize a domestic abuser."

A report from April states Depp tried to blacklist his ex-wife, Amber Heard, at Warner Bros. -- including work on the highly-successful, Aquaman. According to the report, Depp is in a legal battle with his ex-lawyer, Jake Bloom. In connection with the lawsuit, several top attorneys and executives were served deposition notices, including former Warner Bros. chairman Kevin Tsujihara and billionaire Elon Musk. Also served was Amber Heard, who was married to Depp until 2017.

Aquaman 2 is scheduled for release on December 16, 2022. It will be written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and star Jason Momoa.
