Jason Momoa may be the lead actor in Aquaman 2, but that does not mean he has no say on what goes on behind the scenes. In fact, it seems like he has a very large say.

Speaking to Esquire, Momoa discussed his large role in the pitching process, saying he mapped out the entire story for the squeal.

“I came in with a big pitch,” he said. “I came in with the whole thing mapped out, and they loved it.”

Momoa's role behind the scenes will not stop with the story pitch. He is actively working with the creative team of the film, and will bring many of his ideas to the project.

Warner Bros. confirmed Aquaman 2's release back in early 2019, and announced in February that the film would open on Dec. 16, 2022. The studio is currently negotiating Aquaman director James Wan's return to the franchise, although nothing has been officially finalized. DC is also working on a spinoff based on the Aquaman's vicious undersea creatures, the Trench.

Aquaman 2 is scheduled for release on December 16, 2022. It will be written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and star Jason Momoa.
