"Aquaman" #12 Bests Justice League in Robot Chicken Variant

In a hilariously bizarre turn of events, DC Comics plans to give one of its comic covers the "Robot Chicken" treatment in September. TV Guide reports "Aquaman" #12 by Geoff Johns, Ivan Reis and Joe Prado will feature a special variant cover depicting Aquaman in his full "Robot Chicken" glory standing triumphant over the rest of the Justice League.

The variant exists to help promote the "Robot Chicken DC Comics Special" airing September 9 at midnight on Adult Swim, which kicks off "Robot Chicken's" sixth season. While surprising, it seems appropriate that "Aquaman" would be the comic to get the "Robot Chicken" treatment, considering series writer and DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns co-wrote the DC special and served as a writer on the show in season four.

"Aquaman will play a pretty big role in the show," Johns told TV Guide of the Robot Chicken special. "In fact, the title could just as easily be 'How Aquaman Got His Groove Back!'"

Check out how Aquaman gets his groove back on the variant cover below and tune in to the "Robot Chicken DC Comics Special" September 9 on Adult Swim.
