Jackson Hyde, the DC Universe version of "Young Justice's" fan-favorite Aqualad," will join "Teen Titans" with March's Issue 6. The news was revealed in a preview of DC Comics' solicitations for March published by Multiversity Comics.

Introduced into comic book continuity in 2010 in "Brightest Day" #4, which coincided with Aqualad's debut on the animated "Young Justice," Jackson was depicted as a teenager living in New Mexico who was taught by his parents to fear water out of fear that his true father -- who, as on the cartoon, turns out to be the villainous Black Manta -- would find him. After he displays his superhuman abilities, Jackson is told of his heritage, and teams with Aquaman, Mera and Aquagirl to defeat Black Manta.

Jackson didn't appear following the 2011 New 52 relaunch, but made a cameo in May in the "DC Universe: Rebirth" special, where it was revealed he's gay.

According to DC's solicitation text, "Teen Titans" #6 kicks off "The Rise of Aqualad" story arc, which, in typical superhero-comic fashion, suggests Jackson's introduction to the team might be a little bumpy:

“THE RISE OF Aqualad” part one! New story! New city! New member? As the team adjusts to their new lives at Titans Tower, Damian investigates a series of strange disappearances in San Francisco. Meanwhile, Jackson Hyde heads west to fulfill his destiny…and finds himself in the crosshairs of the Teen Titans!

"Teen Titans" #6, by Benjamin Percy, Khoi Pham, Wade von Grawbadger, goes on sale March 22.
