Apple TV+ released a new trailer for Foundation.

The trailer teases an empire-killing threat that can only be stopped by Dr. Hari Seldon and his followers. Foundation is based on the Foundation series of novels from Isaac Asimov, published between 1942-1993. Once planned as a film trilogy, the TV adaptation of Foundation was originally slated for HBO under Jonathan Nolan before it moved to Apple, with David S. Goyer tapped to develop the project.

When revolutionary Dr. Hari Seldon predicts the impending fall of the Empire, he and a band of loyal followers venture to the far reaches of the galaxy to establish The Foundation in an attempt to rebuild and preserve the future of civilization. Enraged by Hari's claims, the ruling Cleons — a long line of emperor clones — fear their grasp on the galaxy may be weakening as they’re forced to reckon with the potential reality of losing their legacy forever.

Developed by David S. Goyer, Foundation stars Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell, Leah Harvey, Laura Birn, Terrence Mann, Alfred Enoch and Cassian Bilton. The series premieres Sept. 24 on Apple TV+.
