Respawn Entertainment's Apex Legends Season 8 introduces a new legend, as well as new gameplay mechanics and major changes to an iconic map. The new gameplay trailer promises a ton of mayhem, especially after the season's cinematic launch trailer.

Things got a bit out of hand at Kings Canyon with Fuse’s debut celebration. He is the planet Salvo’s first champion to join the Apex Games, and Salvo is also the newest planet to join the mysterious Syndicate. Fuse's former friend Maggie sabotaged the event by blowing up a range of mountains and causing a battle cruiser to crash into a previously unplayable section of the map. Apex Legends players can now explore the crash site, which offers a sort of king of the hill position for teams that are able to take it.

Alongside Fuse, Apex Legends Season 8 introduces the 30-30 Repeater, which is a lever-action repeating rifle. When firing from the hip, the 30-30 fires in semi-auto, similar to the G7 Scouts. But when aiming down the sights, the weapon charges up the shot to allow for higher damage.

Another new addition is the Golden Magazine, which -- when picked up in random locations on the map -- can automatically reload holstered, secondary weapons. While there is no other info on the Golden Magazine, it is possible players' weapons will be fully reloaded regardless of ammo type. Or it could mean that for a limited time, all weapons will be able to fire continually without the need to reload. It’s likely Respawn will release more information soon.

Fuse is an Offensive Legend. His abilities include the Airburst Grenade, which fires an explosive device with a small launcher on Fuse's right forearm that detonates in midair. The Motherlode fires a missile with the cannon on Fuse's back, explodes mid-air, then spreads burning flames after the strike, almost like napalm. And finally, Fuse is able to throw grenades with his robotic arm at greater, range, accuracy and speed than most other Legends.

Two legendary skins have also been added, known as Bangalore: Radical Action, and Lifeline: Bad to the Bone. Keeping with Fuse’s “rebel without a cause” theme, both skins give a biker look to the Legends who wear them.

Developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by EA, Apex Legends Season 8: Mayhem will be available Feb. 2.
