The Fight Night collection event has officially come to Apex Legends, and it may be one of the most stressful limited time modes to date. Unlike past LTMs, Fight Night is part of the regular game and not a separate playlist. This change means all Apex players will experience the Fight Night updates on the Olympus map unless they load into a Ranked lobby.

The LTM offers exciting new opportunities, including Pathfinder's Town Takeover, the Airdrop Escalation Takeover, loot MRVNs and Gibraltar's heirloom. Although players knew what to expect thanks to the Fight Night dev stream, it didn't prepare them for the boxing ring madness.

Sure, a new heirloom is always a big deal in the Apex Legends community, but the real hype surrounded Pathfinder's Town Takeover. The developers wanted to create a "zipline forest," considering the gadget is central to Pathfinder's abilities. Ziplines are scattered throughout the Town Takeover dubbed the Ring, located near Docks on Olympus. Centering the new location is a large boxing ring.

The boxing ring is melee only, meaning no weapons, abilities or throwables allowed. Devs acknowledged the idea was partially inspired by clips they had seen of the community using Wattson's Perimeter Fences to create DIY boxing rings for melee encounters. Considering this is Respawn's first melee-based LTM, players were anxious to check it out.

Despite the temptation of full-kitted weapons available in the Airdrop clusters, more than half the lobby descends into the Ring. The result is some serious carnage. Although it's a blast to duke it out in the boxing arena, it's doubtful most players will make it past the first round due to the sheer amount of squads. For those adept at punching, victory is short-lived.

Often, enemies camp the outskirts of the boxing ring, waiting for the winners to emerge. It's a discouraging strategy boxers can contend with by snagging a nearby weapon before entering the Ring.

Nonetheless, some Apex Legends players are already fed up with the Ring. Aside from a fun melee experience, the area offers no substantial rewards. Weapons are scarce and enemies are plentiful. Others argue the boxing arena is a sure way to farm damage and secure a few easy kills in early game.

Either way, Respawn has delivered a LTM like no other. Once the novelty wears off, players may even have the opportunity to explore the area and discover the Easter eggs devs have teased, without the constant threat of a heart-pounding battle.
