There are many powerful characters in Attack on Titan, but the strongest are those who wield the Power of the Titans. While there are numerous Pure and Abnormal Titans scattered throughout Paradis Island, only Nine Titan Shifters can exist at any given point. That said, every Eldian technically has the ability to become a Shifter.

Unfortunately, anyone who inherits one of the Nine Titans can only live for thirteen years. Many of them are also killed during battle, such as Bertholdt Hoover and Lara Tybur. In other words, fans have seen many of their favorite characters become Titan Shifters. While all 9 Titans have unique abilities, not all of them boast the same level of power.

9 Pieck's Cart Titan Has More Utility Than Other Titan Forms

Pieck's Cart Titan is arguably the weakest of the Nine, but it comes with several advantages. Unlike its eight brethren, the Cart Titan walks on all four legs, making it an excellent method of transport. Pieck often has large structures attached to her back, which carry both people and weapons.

The Cart Titan's stamina is practically limitless, allowing it to run around at great speeds without Pieck experiencing any sort of exhaustion. As a testament to the Cart's importance, Pieck successfully saves Zeke Yeager from Captain Levi's clutches.

8 Falco's Jaw Titan Is Critical to Attack on Titan's Finale

As its name suggests, the Jaw Titan's biggest assets are its overpowered mandibles. This entity can easily rip through any material, including the War Hammer Titan's crystal cocoon. As the smallest of the 9 Titans, the Jaw Titan is capable of dodging high-velocity attacks before countering its enemies.

Although Ymir and Porco wore the mantle at different points in the story, their Jaw Titans aren't a fraction as impressive as Falco's version. Using the spinal fluid from the Beast Titan grants it the unique ability to develop wings and fly. Falco's Jaw Titan plays a critical role in the final battle against Eren.

7 Bertholdt and Armin Use the Colossal Titan's Transformation Strategically

The Colossal Titan is probably the most famous Titan, having appeared in the very first episode of the series. It triggers the fall of Shiganshina by destroying a section of Wall Maria, effectively setting Eren on a dark path. The Colossal Titan is nearly 200 feet tall, making it the largest of the Nine Titans until Eren's Founding Titan is revealed.

Both Bertholdt and Armin exploit the Colossus' explosive powers — triggering a quasi-nuclear blast by transforming at the desired time and place. Every single Titan Shifter radiates steam from their bodies, but the Colossal Titan generates enough high-temperature air to repel any opponents in the vicinity.

6 The War Hammer Titan Spawns Weapons and Structures from a Distance

Not much is known about the War Hammer Titan, as it only appears much later in the story. This entity has been in the Tybur family for several generations, though none of them used its ability before the Raid on Liberio. Eren's attack leaves Lara Tybur no choice but to retaliate by turning into the War Hammer Titan and engaging the Attack Titan in a duel.

The War Hammer Titan can spawn a variety of structures and weapons from its crystalline flesh. It can be operated from a distance, making it next to impossible for enemies to triangulate the Shifter's Location. Eren obtains the War Hammer Titan after killing Lara Tybur and consuming her spinal fluid, but he never uses it again.

5 Annie Leonhart's Female Titan Is an Iconic Enemy

The Female Titan is extremely robust and powerful, but its name leaves a lot to be desired. Fans still don't know if male Shifters can inherit the Female Titan, but the other eight have no such gender-based prerequisites. All things considered, Annie Leonhart's Female Titan is an iconic villain, having dispatched countless highly trained Scouts without even expending most of her energy.

While she fails miserably before Levi, the Female Titan is more than capable of defeating anyone else in her path. It can also call Pure Titans to itself by screaming, a rarely used tactic because they would instantly pounce on the Female Titan and devour its body.

4 Zeke Yeager's Beast Titan Can Manifest as Any Animal

The Beast Titan is far more dangerous than its comrades, especially when wielded by someone as cutthroat as Zeke Yeager. Fans were shocked when this creature was introduced for the first time, as it didn't resemble any Titan they had ever seen before.

Although the Beast Titan can technically manifest any animal, Zeke's version looks like a hulking primate — a hairy beast with a supersonic fastball technique at its disposal. The Beast Titan goes on to massacre the Scouts at Shiganshina, including Erwin, but Levi quickly neutralizes both the monster and its human Shifter. Zeke's royal blood helps him access a unique ability, using it to convert anyone who has consumed his spinal fluid into Pure Titans.

3 Reiner Braun's Armored Titan's Durability Makes Him a Formidable Foe

The Armored Titan is coated with several layers of intersecting plates of armor. It is by far the most durable of all the Nine Titans, as shown when Reiner tanks cannon blasts without receiving more than a few dents and dings. One of the major drawbacks of having so much armor is going to be reduced mobility, but Reiner doesn't need to move fast when he can simply punch his way through.

The Armored Titan, in conjunction with Reiner's indomitable willpower, is a devastatingly formidable adversary. It ultimately helps the Scouts by wrestling the Shining Centipede in the story's endgame, thereby preventing it from causing more havoc.

2 Eren Yeager's Attack Titan Can Transcend Time

Eren Kruger, Grisha Yeager, and Eren Yeager have all wielded the Attack Titan, and are therefore linked to each other through its time transcendence properties. Grisha states that "the inheritor of the Attack Titan never obeyed others" from the beginning, and that "it is capable of knowing the future."

This is the true power of the Attack Titan, in addition to its overwhelming strength and agility. Eren manages to coordinate every event in the timeline to take place exactly as preordained, using the Attack Titan to manipulate both Grisha and Kruger. That said, Eren would have never been able to seize the Founding Titan without the Attack Titan's abilities.

1 The Founding Titan Becomes the Doomsday Titan Under Eren Yeager's Control

The Founding Titan is the progenitor of the Nine, as well as the first Titan to ever exist. It came into being when Ymir Fritz accidentally made contact with the Shining Centipede, which transformed her into a gigantic being far larger than the Colossal Titan. However, both Ymir's and Frieda's Founding Titans pale in comparison with Eren's version, known as the Doomsday Titan.

This creature's size is nothing less than incomprehensible — it can bear dozens of Titans on its skeleton back, but is otherwise incapable of defending itself. The Founding Titan can create and control any other Titan, as well as overwrite memories belonging to the Eldian race. It is easily the strongest Titan in the series.
