Anthony Mackie Wishes Falcon's Avengers: Infinity War Death Was Better

Anthony Mackie as Falcon

Like Black Panther, Scarlet Witch and Spider-Man, Anthony Mackie's Falcon was one of those turned to dust by Thanos' snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. However, Mackie wishes that his character had received a better death in last year's supersized superhero movie.

Speaking to BUILD Series, Mackie revealed how his Infinity War death isn't how he imagined he'd exit the MCU, saying, "Thanos turned us into dust. ... So, you know, I wish I had died a better way than turning to dirt."

"I feel like everybody who has died had this cool death scene," he continued. "We were on set, and I'm laying down in the mud and it's cold, and the Russo Brothers are like, 'You're disintegrating, think about, you're leaving Earth, what would you say?' And I'm like 'Cap?' ... dust."

Mackie also jokingly proposed a better death for Falcon. "I wish I was running and like Scarlett Johansson was there and I jump on her and take a bullet and she cries and I'm laying there," he said. "And I say 'I did it for you' and she's like 'You were always my favorite.' And then you take the crane and you pan out and she passionately kisses me..."

Mackie's Falcon joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Since then, he has appeared in several films, including Captain America: Civil War and Infinity War. While Mackie can't give away any spoilers, chances are that his lackluster death scene from the latter won't be the end of Sam Wilson.
