Anthony Hopkins is all about playing gods and old folks lately. He'll return for Thor 2 as All-Father Odin, but he's also signed on to play Methuselah in Darren Aronofsky's biblical epic Noah, Deadline reports.
In The Bible, Methuselah is known as the oldest man living. He died at the ripe old age of 969, just seven days before the Great Flood, which Noah prepared for by gathering his family as well as a pair of every animal. Methuselah is also Noah's grandfather.
Aronofsky's version of the story will star Russell Crowe as the title character, Jennifer Connelly as his wife, Ray Winstone as the local bad guy and Emma Watson as the love interest for one of Noah's sons.
The Paramount Pictures/New Regency film is set to appear in theaters March 28, 2013.
