An early look at Kang the Conqueror from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has been revealed.

The reveal comes by way of Creature Bionics' Ace Ruele, who shared a photo of himself on Twitter (the tweet has since been deleted) in a stunt team t-shirt. The back of the tee features a shattered Ant-Man helmet, but reflecting off of the other side is a very comic book-accurate Kang.

Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Nathaniel Richards (also known as Rama-Tut, Kang the Conqueror, Iron Lad, Victor Timely, Scarlet Centurion, Immortus and more) debuted in 1963's Fantastic Four #19 and would go on to become one of the Avengers' most prevalent villains in the comics. The character is a 31st-century scholar and a very distant relative of the Fantastic Four's Reed Richards, whose experiments with time send him down a rabbit hole that ends with him seeking to conquer Earth.

It was reported in September 2020 that Kang would make the jump from the comics to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, courtesy of Lovecraft Country's Jonathan Majors. This past summer, Majors made his MCU debut early by appearing in the Season 1 finale of Loki as a Kang variant called He Who Remains, who was killed by Sylvie.

"I felt pretty loose and free on the Loki set! The MCU and all the powers-that-be are just so open-hearted," Majors said in October. "The character is different so you move a different way; my psychology has shifted because of the character. He’s just a different guy. He Who Remains is not in Ant-Man. It’s Kang. But the people surrounding us – the cast, my leading man, Paul Rudd – that’s different. Because Paul’s not Tom [Hiddleston]. This is a movie, not a TV show. I’ve been here since the beginning and I came in at the end on Loki."

Earlier that month, Paul Rudd praised his new co-star, saying, "I’ve loved everything he’s done, and I see what he’s doing in this, and I’m knocked out by it. "It is really fun to bring new people into the fold, and the enthusiasm that people have is palpable."

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania arrives in theaters July 28, 2023.
