Included among the recently released set of character posters for Ant-Man and the Wasp is one featuring Evangeline Lilly's Hope in her now-familiar superhero costume... but with a very noticeable change.
While the overall design of the Wasp suit appears to be exactly what we've seen in various images, trailers and commercials promoting the Marvel Studios film, the costume in the new poster features a new, much brighter color scheme, resulting in dramatically different look for the hero.
Whether the new colors are something that will feature throughout the film, or if it's an indication of how the character will change over the course of the movie is, of course, unknown. But the fact that Marvel would release an image that is so strikingly different from previous photos and footage is intriguing enough to make us wonder whether there's a significant plot point being teased.
Ant-Man and the Wasp sees Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) team up to take down the mysterious Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), a new villain whose phase-shifting abilities are the result of technology stolen from Hank Pym’s (Michael Douglas) reserve.
Debuting in the United States on July 6, Ant-Man and the Wasp is directed by Peyton Reed and stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne/Wasp, Michael Peña as Luis, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Judy Greer as Maggie, Tip “T.I.” Harris as Dave, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym.
