Director Peyton Reed has hinted fans will see more of Scott Lang as Giant-Man next year in Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Paul Rudd debuted as Lang in 2015's Ant-Man before being recruited by Sam "Falcon" Wilson (Anthony Mackie) to join Steve Rogers' team in 2016's Captain America: Civil War. Although not much background information was provided in that film, Lang tested out a new formula in the field, which allowed him to become Giant-Man.

"The events of Captain America: Civil War gave us something clear, which is: What was Hank Pym and Hope Van Dyne's reaction to Scott having taken this technology out into the world in Civil War?" Reed told Empire Magazine. "We had a lot of fun playing around with that. And we play with size and scale a lot. I love the idea of Giant-Man."

That confirms that the highly anticipated sequel, said to be Marvel Studios' first romantic-comedy, will address the new formula. Apart from that, fans will be eager to see what happened after Lang was presumably broken out of the Raft at the end of Civil War and how he plays a part in the quest to rescue Janet Pym from the microverse.

Debuting July 6, 2018, Ant-Man and the Wasp is a production of Marvel Studios directed by Peyton Reed and starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, Hannah John-Kamen, Randall Park and Walton Goggins.
