When Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne suit up in July in Marvel's Ant-Man and The Wasp, not only will they try to rescue Janet van Dyne from the Quantum Realm, they'll also face a new foe in The Ghost.
Fans got their first look at Hannah John-Kamen's phase-shifting villain in the first trailer, and now a promotional image has surfaced that showcases her abilities.
Posted on Reddit, the image shows the hooded figure phasing, and looking as menacing as ever. Considering the character's comic book history as a corporate saboteur and master thief who can turn invisible and intangible, we can perhaps surmise how she'll cross paths with Hank Pym & Co.
The Ghost is male in the comics, where he was introduced in a storyline that spanned Iron Man #219-220, in which he was hired by Roxxon to sabotage Tony Stark’s business.
The Ghost's resume of industrial sabotage is lengthy, as he was also hired in the past to go after Justin Hammer, Peter Parker and even Roxxon itself. In director Adam Reed's sequel, it seems that Pym Technologies may well beThe Ghost's target, throwing off Team Pym's mission to save Janet, the original Wasp, from the depths of the microverse.
Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man and The Wasp stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip “T.I.” Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, Hannah John-Kamen, Randall Park and Walton Goggins. The film opens July 6.
