Director Peyton Reed (Ant-Man) took to Instagram this weekend to tease an imminent announcement surrounding his upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film Ant-Man and the Wasp. Featuring classic comic book artwork of the original Ant-Man (Hank Pym) and Wasp (Janey Van Dyne), the post had the mere caption: "Stay tuned."

When fans can expect an Ant-Man and the Wasp announcement is anybody's guess, but with next month bringing the Disney-run D23 Expo and San Diego's Comic-Con International, there's plenty of opportunity for Reed to drop some news as production gears up for his sequel.

Reed recently teased new equipment for Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) in the sequel that "can do even new and stranger things," in addition to commenting on the character's new suit. “For Ant-Man specifically, in that first movie, the suit, intentionally so, is kind of a relic,” the director said. “It represents his past, so this is really the new iteration that is the modern version of the tech.”

Production on the Ant-Man sequel is set to finally begin next month under the code name of Cherry Blue. Production will reportedly kick off on July 6, with filming expected to wrap on November 30.

Though word has been slim on Ant-Man and the Wasp's plot, we've learned in recent months that Michael Douglas' Dr. Hank Pym will indeed return for the film, which recently cast newcomer and Black Mirror alum Hannah John-Kamen.

Star Evangeline Lilly confirmed last month that she was undergoing costume-fitting, teasing her appearance in the film with an image from the comics.

Opening July 6, 2018, director Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man and the Wasp stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Peña and Michael Douglas.
