While Ant-Man and The Wasp saw Michael Douglas leap back into size-changing action, he originally was supposed to do it wearing a version of a familiar-looking outfit.

Released concept art from the MCU film shows Douglas' Hank Pym suited up in a streamlined variant of the Yellowjacket costume first worn by the villainous Darren Cross in 2015's Ant-Man. The new Yellowjacket, sans the original's spiky weapons array, stands alongside Scott Lang, original Wasp Janet Van Dyne, and Hope Van Dyne wearing an early version of the new Wasp suit.

While Pym does don his own size-changing outfit in the final film, it's a much more modest design lacking the distinct coloration of Yellowjacket. The former superhero uses a device built with his daughter to venture into the Quantum Realm in a bid to rescue his wife who had been trapped in the microscopic world since 1987.

It's unclear if Pym will take up the Yellowjacket mantle in the future of the MCU or what his current status is following the events of the film but the concept art offers a glimpse of what could have been with the retired superhero reliving his glory days.
