Nearly two months since its release and the size-swapping superhero film Ant-Man and The Wasp's global box office keeps getting bigger and bigger.

The MCU sequel is scheduled to open this weekend in China with box office estimates for the weekend, including last night's late night previews, at $24-25 million. With the worldwide box office for the film currently at $471.5 million, this should put the sequel just under $500 million globally after this weekend.

China has become an increasingly strong market for Hollywood films in recent years, helping propel Avengers: Infinity War over $2 billion worldwide earlier this year. If the estimates prove accurate, the Ant-Man sequel will become the fourth highest earning opening for the MCU in the region following 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, Infinity War, and 2016's Captain America: Civil War.

With Ant-Man and The Wasp projected to earn approximately $70 during its entire run in China and scheduled to open in Japan next weekend, the film is virtually guaranteed to outperform its 2015 predecessor which earned $519.3 million during its initial 2015 release.
