As to be expected, Ant-Man is making the jump from the big screen to the little screen look easy.
Earlier today, Entertainment Weekly revealed that the next entry in Disney XD's line of animated Marvel shorts will feature the further adventures of Scott Lang, continuing the story that began in the 2015 live-action film directed by Peyton Reed. The shorts will be titled Marvel's Ant-Man, and Lang will be voiced by Josh Keaton (Voltron: Legendary Defender). A description for the series states "the shrinking hero will fight evil alongside the Wasp and Hank Pym. He’ll score occasional breaks to help daughter Cassie with her homework."
Just like the previous series of Marvel animated shorts which showcased Guardians of the Galaxy stars Rocket Raccoon and Groot, Marvel’s Ant-Man was animated by Passion Pictures. The series will consist of six two-minute shorts, and were directed by Ugo Bienvenu and Kevin Manach, with writing credits attributed to Brian Wysol. Alan Fine, Joe Quesada and Stan Lee are among those listed as producers.
Entertainment Weekly also provided two preview images:
The first three shorts will air on Disney XD on Saturday, June 10, with "Science Fair" premiering at 7:58 a.m. ET, "Alien Invasion" set for 11:58 a.m. and "Soup Time" slated for 2:58 p.m. The remaining three (“Exterminator, Proton Cube,” and “Not a Date”) will air June 11 at 11:28 a.m., 5:28 p.m., and 8:58 p.m., respectively.
