Ant-Man and The Wasp director Peyton Reed has clarified his stance on the villain of the original film, saying that, contrary to reports, he actually loves Yellowjacket.

The filmmaker wrote on Twitter that he's a fan of Yellowjacket/Darren Cross and of actor Corey Stoll. "There have been a couple of clickbaity headlines claiming that I’m not a fan of Yellowjacket, the villain in Ant-Man," Reed tweeted. "For the record: I LOVE Yellowjacket! I LOVE Darren Cross, I LOVE Corey Stoll’s performance, and I LOVE the design of the character. Thank you for listening."

Reports suggesting Reed wasn't particularly a fan of Yellowjacket were kickstarted by a recent interview in which the director said he was "hell bent on doing something different in [Ant-Man and the Wasp]," in regards to the villain and his power set, which was similar to Ant-Man's.
